Chord Companion — Play Along From Your First Chord

A beginner-friendly companion for guitar and ukulele — play along to songs with chords over the lyrics, transpose to an easier key, see every chord shape, and auto-scroll so you never lose your place.

The situation

When you're learning guitar or ukulele, the internet's chord sheets are a mess: fixed in keys your fingers can't reach yet, no diagrams when you hit a chord you don't know, and a wall of text you have to scroll by hand while both hands are busy holding the instrument. The gap between 'I want to play this song' and actually playing it is full of small, avoidable friction.

What I built

Chord Companion removes that friction piece by piece. Chords sit above the words where they're played. One tap transposes the whole song to an easier key with the names updating live. Tap any chord and you get the shape for both guitar and ukulele, side by side. Auto-scroll keeps the song moving at your pace so you never take a hand off the strings. It remembers your instrument, your recent songs and your favourites. And it handles lyrics carefully — fetching them on demand rather than storing copyrighted words — so the app stays clean. It's a small, sharp tool that does one thing well: get a beginner playing.
